My moments of reflection for Ramadan

Our Gods being none other than our arrogance and greed as we consume everything from the world's resources to the time we take away from our children.

It seems like we've just come out of the last Ramadan but here we are at the next. Subhan-Allah.


Has there ever been an age where time flew so fast? We leap into the next year as we leap across continents in an age of communication and technology that requires ever more human capital to service it.
 

This progression; the rate of it, the ability to even enter the race has become the barometer of humanities success. How pathetic.


Our Gods being none other than our arrogance and greed as we consume everything from the world's resources to the time we take away from our children. Loyal only to cultural expectations defined either by our ever changing human values or by stagnant values both contrary to the natural human disposition; resulting in too many a broken home, torn hearts and twisted souls.
 

On this month may we learn a discipline of our tongues, to say a better word. Ameen. May we have the courage to stand for what is just and right. Ameen. May we be instilled with humility when we are wrong. Ameen. May we be defiant against those who prejudge and have little or no compassion. Ameen. May we learn to forgive, for the sake of forgiving, repairing broken bonds. Ameen. May we have the patience with those too stubborn to embody the truth though they may claim to hear it, believe it. Ameen.
 

May we burn our sins in this month so aptly named Ramadan.
 

He has no need for our thirsts and hunger should our character remain so flawed.
 

Ramadan Mubarak.

JazakAllah kahir for these reflections. It is in all certitude pathetic, the way we (not all of us) human beings have engaged ourselves in evolution. Evolution is definitely always or mostly a case or agenda with every other human project in every other age. But what is indeed significant is the content of agenda human beings uphold as criteria for their evolution, That you have been so astute in presenting subhanAllah.... "his progression; the rate of it, the ability to even enter the race has become the barometer of humanities success. How pathetic." It is true for all ages and a characterstic of lack of iman and righteous morality, the way human society engages itself in celebration of the death of human spirit while giving life to the lowest of human pursuits...
