Islam is a 'way of life' but is it really?

How can we make Islam our way of life?

Over the years I have learnt essential lessons, many of them from making my own mistakes, some that I learned from others mistakes.

The person I am today and what\'s helped define me are various experiences and encounters with people of knowlege, experience and wisdom. These people were not all Muslim, but I think without their footprint on my life I would surely have lost out.

People often say Islam is a way of life - but what do we mean by that? Does it mean its a strict manual that tells you exacly how to live from when to wake, what to wear, eat, think, love, hate.

Feels so dogmatic, lacks colour, vibrancy, any scope for thought or development, no individuality or expression.

This leads one to re-evaluate what really is an Islamic way of life?

It is evident from this POD that some (some may argue many) Muslims behave badly (note; so do people from other/ no faiths), these Muslims still follow the ritualistic or phsical expectations of a Muslims, such as dress, prayer, fasting etc.

Does this mean that Islam is their way of life?

And then theres the other Muslim who just does\'nt look the part! Can we assume that Islam is not their way of life.

What makes Islam a way of life? How can we implement this?
