Eid Mubarak from Campusalam

You may feel we have lost another opportunity to earn 10 times more in ‘interest’ payments calculated and credited at the point of good deed.

“Taqabbal Allahu minna wa minkum – (may Allah accept from us and from you our good deeds”

SubhanAllah, Alhamdullilah ya ar-Rahman ar-Raheem for giving us one more opportunity, one more moment, to credit the one account that really matters. In amongst the madness of this world are we commanded to bow our heads a minimum 15 times to the one that owns our very destinies regardless of the path we choose to take, may we have the wisdom and courage to choose the noble path, the siraatul mustakeem, the straight path.

Ramadan has left us. You may feel we have lost another opportunity to earn 10 times more in ‘interest’ payments calculated and credited at the point of good deed. However, lose not heart, nor fall in despair, for you are bound to rise if you are to gain mastery in faith, Ramadan was a purification of your soul to ward off the worst within us, learning self restraint. Let the virtues that you have rediscovered during this Ramadan continue, keep away from foul speech, if you can’t say something good about someone, you don’t need to say it, eat less, give more, it will sharpen your mind and wash away your sins faster than your very act of giving.

This Ramadan has seen a tremendous trial for the people of Pakistan who have suffered from the worst of floods tearing the country apart but subhanAllah my heart has been humbled by the level of support Muslims are giving to the people of Pakistan. Channel surfing between the many Muslim television channels it is heartening to witness aid pouring in from Muslims all over the country, wiping away their own sins and giving the people of Pakistan one more chance to reflect and earn forgiveness and blessings that they may realise a change for their country to be a better example tomorrow.

Muslims have been given two festivals in the year, so be not shy to celebrate with family and friends conscious of Allah, smile for the sake of Allah, laugh for the sake of Allah and love for the sake of Allah. Your very existence is a blessing so let the hearts of others be warmed and touched by your presence and forgiveness. Be thankful you were raised a Muslim, reflect on your name and ask yourself whether you are worthy of it. Be thankful for the mighty noble recitation which is a reminder and a guide to soothe troubled hearts and souls. Stay faithful and read this firm yet gentle exhortation and learn to embody it as the Prophet PBUH embodied it.

Make no judgments on those who strive for the sake of Allah in a manner that may be different to you, Allah has created us into nations and tribes so that we may know one another, but stand firm against lies and deception around the Quran and the way of the Prophet PBUH. Be patient and tactful with those who are yet to know Allah, remember that your character is the greatest asset you have to inviting people to the way of their creator through wisdom and beautiful speech.

The Prophet PBUH advised us not to hate so much, as our enemy today could possibly be our greatest friend tomorrow. Remember this as September 11th approaches whence a few Christians believing to be faithful, seek to burn the words of Allah which say, “And nearest among them in love to the Believers wilt thou find those who say: "We are Christians:" because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant”.

Be comforted in that their creator is our creator, and he is the best of plotters against all plots, take heart from the fact that many more Qurans can be produced as a result of revenue generated from this ‘noble’ Quran burning day, as it can only make the Quran more popular to an audience that has not yet read it seeking to know what it was about this book that has antagonized a congregation of 50. I never thought that Br. Pastor Terry Jones could potentially be such an effective da’ee. SubhanAllah.
