Skills Toolbox > Dealing with people > Dealing with People

People often feel passionately about religious and ethical issues, and raising these topics can generate some strong emotions even when what you are looking for is a free and open exchange of ideas. Successful communication needs an understanding of how best to communicate to achieve the positive interaction that you want.

This section provides some information about how emotions affect the way we think and communicate. It also provides some suggestions about communication techniques and other skills that can be used in challenging situations.

See left for the two sections of topics.
