In a longer event, you may want to intersperse some other kinds of activity amongst the talks given by main speakers. It helps to introduce variety, engage people more actively, and is less costly than paying for a day full of speakers.
What small groups can do:
- Simple discussion of issues raised in the talks, or discuss questions you provide
- Convene to solve a problem or reach a conclusion and report back
- Perform a specific task which you set them based on material from the talks
- World café
- Make a poster for a poster conversation
- Devise an Elevator Speech or an Elevator Question
- Do sticker voting
- Think of or write a story that metaphorically illustrates a situation, a problem, or a possible solution
