Skills Toolbox > Organising Events > Beginner's Guide > Who is the event for?

Attendees

- Who is the audience or participants?
- How can we reach or contact them to let them know about the event? List these ways and ideas for publicising the event.
- How many would be likely to attend – or how many do we want to attend?
- Would they pay to attend or can we hold the event for free?
- How much would they pay to attend?

Is there anyone the event is not for – and do you need to make this clear, verbally or in practice?

Supporters

- Whom can I/we involve to work on this event?
- What potential partners or ‘allies’ do we have who might become involved or help?
- Who might be able to give financial support if we need it?
- Who might be able to donate things or services, a venue, catering, or other needs?

You should now be able to draw up a list of your ‘team’, your wider partners or allies, and potential donors or supporters that you can approach.
