How did opinions change during the FlashPOD Talk?
As we delved deeper into the difficulties in communication and understanding the reasons behind some of the current issues faced by parents re their children we soon came to understand and appreciate some of the more complex areas of this discussion.

What positive actions will our FlashPOD take based on our discussion?
The broad channels that we chose to use as a result of our discussions are;
More specifically we decided to begin a campaign; the idea behind the campaign is that we take various positive steps for other campaigns but when it comes to fighting our corner re marriage or career we dont set out the actions in a productive and continual manner.
The campaign means that we will use dialogue, compromise and ongoing communication with parents including them in our lives both short and long term. Making them aware of the people we are and what we want in life before the big moment that we are put on the spot. This way their arent any surprises in store for either.
Happy talking guys!
Blogger Comments:
This FlashPOD really reinforced the value of dialogue. At the beginning when the question was asked, everyone in the group shot to nod (almost frantically) in complete harmony signaling the truth of the statement. We all agreed without any need for persuasion that indeed our parents were completely out of touch with our expectations of marriage and YES they were out of touch when it comes to our career aspirations. Twenty minutes and a whole lot of deep discussion later when we asked the same question again, the reactions were more informed, more empathic, more balanced; not to mention a whole lot more civilized! lol
