Step 1: Go to www.youtube.com . In the top right corner click on Create Account.

Step 2: Fill out the registration using the username you chose earlier. If it is not available you may have to add some numbers to it (instead of jsmith, you may need jsmith1869). Make sure you write down your username and password! Leave all boxes checked and unchecked as they are and click ACCEPT.

Step 3: You now have a choice: you may sign up with your Google account if you have one OR another email address and password. I recommend signing up with the email and password you wrote down at the beginning of this module as it keeps everything simple when you need to sign in.

Step 4: If you signed in with your Google Account, your account is activated automatically. If not, you will need to check your email account for an email from YouTube. If you don’t receive the email within a few minutes, check your Junk Mail or Bulk Mail folder. You may also re-send the email.

Step 5: Click on the link to activate your account. You now have a YouTube account!

There are other video sites that are used to upload, store and share videos. It is a good idea to learn about them and how you can use them to promote your videos.

I recommend setting up an account on one other site as well. Vimeo or Blip TV are the best for sharing videos.
