Keep covered: Many handheld cameras come with a case or a pouch to protect them. The Creative Vado comes with a white silicone cover. It doesn't look cool, but it may save your camera from an early grave.
Keep dry: Most cameras can handle a few drops of rain, but it is not designed for swimming! Be extra careful in rainy conditions.
Keep in sight: If it's easy for you to put in your pocket, it's equally easy for someone else to pocket it and walk away. Keep the camera with you or in sight at all times.
Keep recharged: It is irritating to miss out on your best footage because the battery went dead. The Creative Vado and Flip Mino charge just by being plugged into the computer. It's a good idea to keep the camera plugged in while you are at home.
Keep backups: It is always a good idea to have your footage saved in two places. As long as there is space it can be on the camera and on your computer. You should also consider getting a backup external drive to store all your footage in case your hard drive crashes. Better to be safe than lose your hard work!
